Born in Alabama, raised in Iowa, with a childhood pit stop in Brookline, MA, I’ve always had a knack for finding inspiration wherever life takes me. After earning a B.A. in English and Africana Studies and an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from NYU, I lived in New York and Los Angeles before settling in Atlanta, where I’ve been holding it down for the last 17 years.

I’m a proud Disney adult, a world traveler, and a self-proclaimed film and TV junkie who knows my way around a box office debate as well as a kitchen. (Yes, I’m a foodie— dim sum and ramen are personality traits.) Hip-hop is my soundtrack, pop culture is my playground, and storytelling is my superpower.

I’ve brushed shoulders with legends like Denzel Washington and Tom Cruise, but my greatest star is my pitbull “son,” Fletcher—easily the best co-star in my life.
